About me: Silvija Butković was born in Osijek, but spent her childhood on the island of Lošinj. She currently lives and works in Đakovo, at the State Stud Farm Đakovo, in the tourism and marketing sector. She has been a freelance tour guide for many years, focusing on the town in the heart of Slavonia – Đakovo. The life of Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, the visit of Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Family and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall to the State Stud Farm Đakovo, architecture of the Đakovo Cathedral, old town centre, former Ibrahim Pasha Mosque, stories from Đakovo museums, wine routes and roads to Đakovo lakes are only some parts of the inexhaustible source of history and tradition kept alive on her tours. Besides tourism, she also loves art. She has been very successful in fine-art photography, poetry, prose, haiku and haiga (30 solo photography exhibitions, 200 group exhibitions, three poetry collections, 19 haiku anthologies in Croatia and worldwide and 120 literary anthologies in Croatia). In 2007 in Japan, she was given the Master Haiga Artist title. As an active member of FKK (Photography and Film Club) Đakovo and its vice president since 2022, she was awarded a plaquette of the Association of Technical Culture of Osijek-Baranja County in 2010 and a certificate of appreciation of the Association of Technical Culture of the City of Osijek in 2014. In 2015, she also won the Đakovo Annual Award for special cultural achievement. She is a member of many photography and literary associations in Croatia and worldwide.
